Boise and Newark duked it out at Cobras Ballpark and the Hawks came out victorious.

The Boise Hawks topped the Newark Jail Birds, 10-8, with youngster Daiki Nakamura playing a key role. Nakamura went 1 for 1 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Hawks in the win. The Jail Birds, now 6-12, continue their poor start.

The Hawks got a big at-bat from first baseman Jeff Fosbrink. For the game, Fosbrink was 3-5 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI. In the top of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 2nd double of the season gave Boise a 4-2 lead.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Nakamura told the Boise Chronicle.
