Black Bears Can't Finish, Lose 15-12
|
Kieran Alexander was instrumental in his team's 15-12 triumph over the Fraser Valley Black Bears. The left fielder belted 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 2 for the Sandy Springs Spartans. Sandy Springs reliever Carlos Alonzo picked up the win to move to 1-0. Yoshiiku Kikuchi suffered the loss. The Black Bears drop to 6-6 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2033 season.
Chuck McNeil, who is tied for 8th in the FFL in hits with 19, chipped in for Sandy Springs with a 2-run home run in the top of the 11th. For the game, the third baseman had 3 hits in 6 at-bats with 1 home run, 2 singles, 2 runs scored, and 4 runs batted in.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Alexander told the Sandy Springs News.
