Storm Troopers Score Late, Top Snaps, 2-1
|
The Cincinnati Snaps got a superb performance from pitcher Lenny Tremlett, but the San Antonio Storm Troopers still won the game, 2-1. Tremlett was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball. San Antonio reliever Hang-yu Pak picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Shinji Makino was saddled with the loss. The Storm Troopers, with just their 4th win in 13 games, have played uninspired baseball so far.
Oscar Smith was the walk-off hero for San Antonio. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Storm Troopers second baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"It's great when the crowd gets into it," Smith said.
