Rats Prevail, 5-4, Over Spokane
|
The Rock River Rats downed the Spokane Bulldogs, 5-4, at The Rat Hole. Arturo Trinidad led the way, going 4-for-4 for Rock River. Don Wheeler picked up the win with 7 innings of work. He allowed 4 earned runs on 8 hits, while walking 0 and striking out 8. On the season, he is now 1-1. The save went to Ramón Román, his 1st this season.
Trinidad had a game-changing double in the bottom of the seventh. On a 2-1 fastball from Norihisa Sakai, he banged a 2-run double to center, giving the Rats a 5-4 lead. It was the 3rd double of the year for Trinidad.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Trinidad told the Rock River Daily News.
The Bulldogs drop to 6-7 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2033 season.
