Black Bears Lose, 8-5, at The Corn Crib

DeKalb and Fraser Valley duked it out at The Corn Crib and the Cornhuskers came out victorious.
DeKalb starter Alan Gorringe pitched effectively against the Fraser Valley Black Bears at The Corn Crib. The right-hander led his team to a 8-5 win. Gorringe picked up the win for DeKalb, going 6 innings. He gave up 1 run on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 2-0.
Steve Bailey hit a run-scoring double off Cristo Hernández in the bottom of the first, which put the Cornhuskers in front, 1-0. In addition to the double, Bailey had 1 single and 1 walk, while going 2 for 4.
"I liked his command," said DeKalb manager Eduardo Varerla. "Alan was throwing strikes."
The Cornhuskers keep rolling, raising their record to 7-4.
