Victory Over Hackers Takes Riverside to 8-3
|
Riverside pitcher Lucas van Alpen did his part in helping his team beat the Silicon Valley Hackers, 3-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The save was credited to Lien-ying Mar, his 3rd. The Red Bulls, now 8-3, have been on a roll in the early going.
Juan Politti, who is tied for 2nd in the ACL in doubles with 4, aided the Riverside cause with a run-scoring ground out in the top of the third. For the game, the left fielder was 1 for 4 with a double.
After the game, Riverside manager Will Hunt applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
