Victory Over Snaps Takes Topeka to 7-3
|
The Topeka Predators topped the Cincinnati Snaps, 7-3, with youngster Gerardo Hernández playing a key role. Hernández went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Predators in the win. Angel Chavez earned the win for Topeka. He lasted 6 innings, allowing no earned runs on 6 hits, while striking out 4. With the win, he raised his record to 1-0. The save was credited to Frank Clark, his 1st.
The Predators got a big at-bat from second baseman Jesús García. For the game, García was 2 for 3 with 2 doubles and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. In the top of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 2nd double of the season gave Topeka a 2-1 lead.
