Cabo San Lucas beat Maple at Field de Los Layendas, eking out a 5-4 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Masazumi Ohayashi, who earned player of the game honors. The win was Tomio Nakahara's in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Steve McBryde took the loss for Maple. Cabo San Lucas is now 13-20, Maple 23-10.
The Toreros got a big at-bat from catcher Moo-hyun Boone. For the game, Boone was 1 for 4, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 21st hit of the season gave Cabo San Lucas a 3-1 lead.
"We need to string a few more wins like this one together," said Boone.
