Hornets Prevail, 8-6, Over Mile High
|
Mile High got a terrific game from catcher Harley Ware. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Eureka, 8-6. Ware was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Eureka reliever Barend Bilderbeek picked up the win, upping his record to 4-0. Alejandro Zorros absorbed the loss. Elliott Rogers earned the save for Eureka, his 7th.
Jesus Rivera, who is rated as the 91st best prospect by BNN, aided the Eureka cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth. For the game, the center fielder went 3-5 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
"We came out aggressive," said Hornets manager Stephen Jackson. "We came out swinging the bats."
The Hornets bumped their record to 18-17 with this latest triumph.
