Conditions were not ideal but Spokane and Fraser Valley were able to put their game in the books.

The Spokane Bulldogs bested the Fraser Valley Black Bears, 10-6, at The Kennel. Shigem Allen was named player of the game. He was 2-3 with a home run, a triple, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4. Losses have been rare for the Black Bears, who are now 5-2.

Had Raúl Cortéz not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Cortéz hit a grand slam. That made the score 10-6, in favor of the Bulldogs.

"We maximized our offense today," said Spokane skipper Chris Carpenter. "That makes everyone's life easier."
