Beetlecats Walk It Off for 4th Win of Season
|
It was a good time at Bloomfield Road, where fans came to watch the Phoenix Lights and Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats get after it.
The Phoenix Lights got a superb performance from pitcher Deug-yeom Park, but the Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats still won the game, 3-2. Park was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball. The win was credited to Ji-hwan Yea in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Paul Murat took the loss.
The Beetlecats got a big at-bat from second baseman Ryan Cunningham. For the game, Cunningham was 3 for 5 with 3 singles. In the bottom of the tenth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 12th hit of the season gave Buzzard's Bay a 3-2 lead.
"Tough ballgame, tough loss," said Phoenix manager Michael Barnett.
The win gives Buzzard's Bay a record of 4-4.
