Storm Troopers Get Win, Hope to Turn Around Slow Start
|
San Antonio withstood an impressive performance by Topeka designated hitter Luke Cowley to defeat the Predators, 9-8, at The Clone Army. Cowley was 3-5 with a double and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Evan Blandford locked down his 1st save. Losses have been few and far between for the Predators so far this season. Their record drops to 4-2.
Had Francisco González not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, González hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 9-8, in favor of the Storm Troopers.
González called the triumph "a good team win."
