Shamrocks Sneak Past Jail Birds, 4-3
|
Pacifica Shamrocks starter Camilo Pascual was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Newark Jail Birds, 4-3. Pacifica reliever Mudasser Sabzvari picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-0. Daniel White was collared with the loss. Bernard Coste locked down his 1st save.
The Shamrocks got a big at-bat from center fielder Yasusaburo Sato. For the game, Sato was 1-5, while adding 2 RBI. In the top of the tenth, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 3rd hit of the season gave Pacifica a 4-3 lead.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Pacifica manager Joe Leftwich.
Losses have been few and far between for the Jail Birds so far this season. Their record drops to 4-2.
