Cornhuskers Continue Hot Start to Season With Win
The DeKalb Cornhuskers bested the Long Island Ducks, 7-0, at Long Island Stadium. Gerardo Zapata was named player of the game. He slugged 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. DeKalb reliever Steve Gould picked up the win, bumping his record to 2-0. Ricardo Hernández was collared with the loss. With their winning streak at 4, the Cornhuskers have raced to a strong start this season.

Early in the game, Zapata had a 2-run home run for DeKalb. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Cornhuskers on top, 2-0.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said DeKalb manager Eduardo Varerla.
