Multi-HR Day for Mayes as Bulldogs Overpower Spartans, 19-15
|
The Spokane Bulldogs defeated the Sandy Springs Spartans, 19-15, at The Coliseum. Spokane catcher Oscar Mayes was named player of the game for his superb performance. He slugged 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 8. The Bulldogs raised their record to 2-1.
Mayes had a big at-bat with the bases loaded in the top of the fifth inning, when he hit a grand slam. The Bulldogs went on to win.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Mayes, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
