The Spokane Bulldogs picked up a win at The Coliseum, knocking off the Sandy Springs Spartans, 5-2. Starting pitcher Seijii Matsumura, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Spokane is now 1-1.

Shigem Allen aided the Spokane cause with a 2-run single in the top of the first. For the game, the designated hitter went 3 for 4 with 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs.
