The Billings Mustangs defeated the Peoria Caterpillars, 7-4, at Cobb Field. Billings right fielder Al Nichol was named player of the game for his superb performance. He went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The Mustangs bumped their record to 81-80 with this latest triumph.

A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd and one out in the bottom of the third inning. That's when designated hitter Jorge Hernández drew a walk. The Mustangs went on to win.

"I was able to barrel up some pitches," said Nichol.
