Raiders Jolt Freeze with Late Rally
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Reno Raiders and the Minneapolis Freeze, Jorge Mota was the difference-maker. The Reno right-hander earned player of the game honors in the 2-1 win. Reno reliever Mei-shan Huang was credited with the win, to go to 4-7. Pedro García took the loss for Minneapolis. The Raiders bumped their record to 81-80 with this latest triumph.
Luis Ávila was the walk-off hero for Reno. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Raiders first baseman hit a dramatic solo home run to send the teams home.
"It was a good effort all around," said Mota.
