Phantoms Suffer 14-0 Drubbing
|
Spirited fans at Phantoms Field greeted the Coronado Phantoms for their clash with the Indian Wells Aeropostales.
The Indian Wells Aeropostales got production from their entire lineup in an easy 14-0 win over the Coronado Phantoms. Player of the game honors went to second baseman Bernardo Rodríguez. Rodríguez, who is tied for 2nd in the NAL with a .339 batting average, went 4 for 5 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk, while adding 6 RBI and scoring once. John Faivre, the winner, improved to 11-13. He held the Phantoms to no earned runs on 3 hits over 6.1 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 3.
Rodríguez had a big at-bat with the bases loaded in the top of the eighth inning, when he hit a bases-clearing double. The Aeropostales went on to win.
"We had that killer instinct," Rodríguez said after the game.
This win makes it 5 in a row for Indian Wells.
