Bronx withstood an impressive performance by Calgary shortstop Jayden Rossell to defeat the Kodiaks, 9-7, at Foothills Stadium. Rossell was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Bronx reliever Kenji Ito picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Juan Ventura shouldered the loss. Yukihiro Nakamoto earned his 5th save in 5 chances.

Ken Cashmann helped out the Bronx cause in the top of the fifth inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the designated hitter drew 1 walk in 4 trips to the plate.

"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Cashmann said.

The Bombers bumped their record to 88-71 with this latest triumph.
