Victory Pushes Raiders Record to 80-80
|
The Reno Raiders defeated the Minneapolis Freeze, 9-3, at House of Pain today. Leading the charge for Reno was first baseman Matsudaira Sato. He was 2 for 3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 3 runs. Théophile Richard picked up the win with 9 innings of work. He allowed 3 earned runs on 11 hits, while walking 5 and striking out 6. On the season, he is now 10-14. The Raiders bumped their record to 80-80 with this latest triumph.
The Raiders got a big at-bat from right fielder Ken Donovan. For the game, Donovan was 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 37th home run of the season gave Reno a 3-1 lead.
"You come to the ballpark to do your job and that's what I did today," Sato told the Reno Today.
