Peoria played host to Calgary at the friendly confines of Excavatar Park.

The Peoria Caterpillars beat the Calgary Kodiaks, 4-3, at Excavatar Park. The win was largely due to the efforts of center fielder Steve Bailey, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2 for 3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Morihiro Hashimoto picked up the win, improving his season record to 7-12. He struck out 2 in 6.1 innings.

The Caterpillars got a big at-bat from third baseman José Hernández. For the game, Hernández was 1 for 5 with a double, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 2nd double of the season gave Peoria a 4-3 lead.

"I'm just happy to help the team win," Hernández told the Peoria Bulletin.

Peoria is now riding a 3-game win streak.
