Indian Wells played host to Canton at the friendly confines of Stars Field.

The inspired effort of Canton third baseman Mario Cruz was not enough to prevent a 6-5 loss to the Indian Wells Aeropostales. Cruz hit 2 home runs. The win was credited to Vicente Chávez in relief. His record improves to 8-1. Atmananda Katragadda took the loss.

The Aeropostales got a big at-bat from left fielder Toyokazu Murayama. For the game, Murayama was 3-4 with 3 singles. He drove in 3 runs. In the bottom of the eighth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 150th hit of the season gave Indian Wells a 6-5 lead.

"I'm just happy to help the team win," Murayama told the Indian Wells Daily News.

Indian Wells is now riding a 3-game win streak.
