Canadians Win at Fort Worth, 6-5
Fort Worth got a terrific game from third baseman Ron Woods. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Vancouver, 6-5. Woods was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 2-4 with a double, while scoring 2 times. Cai-fei Men got credit for the win, improving to 8-8. He allowed 5 runs on 11 hits in 5 innings. The Canadians bumped their record to 80-76 with this latest triumph.

In the top of the 6th, first baseman José Rodríguez gave Vancouver the lead when he hit a 2-run single. The Canadians had been trailing 5-4, but the two-out single off Fort Worth pitcher Don Myers changed that -- and Vancouver went on to win.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Vancouver manager Arinori Nakamura.
