Getting a good performance from right fielder Pat Yelland, the Fort Worth Cats defeated the Vancouver Canadians, 11-5. Yelland went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 5 runs and scored once for the Cats. Fort Worth reliever Jesús Féliz was the winner. His record is now 5-0. The losing pitcher was Javier Ballina. The Cats bumped their record to 81-74 with this latest triumph.

Yelland had a big at-bat with the bases loaded in the bottom of the third inning, when he hit a grand slam. The Cats went on to win.

"We'll savor this win," Yelland told the Fort Worth Today, "then get ready for the next game."
