Bombers Win at Cabo San Lucas, 5-4
|
Field de Los Layendas was the site of a competitive game between the Cabo San Lucas Toreros and South Carolina Bombers.
South Carolina beat Cabo San Lucas at Field de Los Layendas, eking out a 5-4 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Beau Miller, who earned player of the game honors. Miller, now 1-0, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 9 hits, while striking out 5, walking 3, and allowing no earned runs. Christian Wallace nailed down his 2nd save.
The Bombers got a big at-bat from catcher Jesús Dela. For the game, Dela went 1-3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave South Carolina a 3-2 lead.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said South Carolina manager Randy Huggett.
With the loss, Cabo San Lucas falls to 1-2.
