Sierra Lifts Freeze to 9-4 Win
|
Santiago Sierra made an impact in the 9-4 Minneapolis win over Pasadena. Sierra went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 5. Sylvester Richardson, the winner, improved to 4-2. He held Pasadena to 1 earned run on 5 hits over 5.1 innings, while racking up 6 strikeouts. The Freeze bumped their record to 79-75 with this latest triumph.
Sierra had a big at-bat with runners on 2nd and 3rd in the bottom of the fifth inning, when he hit a 2-run single. The Freeze went on to win.
In postgame comments to the Minneapolis News, Sierra said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
