The Bronx Bombers grabbed a 13-6 win over the Peoria Caterpillars at Excavatar Park. Bronx catcher Dave Thorpe went 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4 to earn player of the game honors. The second-place Bombers raised their record to 86-67.

Thorpe had a key at-bat for Bronx early in the game. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, he hit a 2-run single. It was his 78th hit of the season and gave Bronx an early 2-0 lead.

"We maximized our offense today," said Bronx skipper Weston Papenfuss. "That makes everyone's life easier."
