Marcovicci Shines in Phantoms Win
Giampaolo Marcovicci made an impact in the 12-8 Coronado win over Fort Worth. Marcovicci, who is tied for 2nd in the NAL in runs scored with 100, went 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3. The Phantoms, at 62-88, sit in last place in the Nick Adenhart League Bobby Cox Division.

Had Steven Wrottesley not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Wrottesley hit a 2-run single. That made the score 9-7, in favor of the Phantoms.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Wrottesley told a Coronado Times reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
