Freeze Subdue Joplin, 4-3
|
Minneapolis beat Joplin at The Firepit, escaping with a 4-3 win. The win in large part was due to right fielder Yen-nien Tong, who earned player of the game honors. He went 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks. The Freeze bumped their record to 77-73 with this latest triumph.
Tong had a big at-bat with the bases empty in the top of the eighth inning, when he hit a solo home run. The Freeze went on to win.
After the game, Minneapolis manager John Justin applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
