The Antioch Coal Miners got a superb performance from pitcher Kang-il Hyong, but the Peoria Caterpillars still won the game, 2-1. Hyong was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 8 innings of 3-hit ball. Victor Hernandez, the winner, improved to 5-8. He held the Coal Miners to 1 earned run on 3 hits over 5.1 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 3. Davis Marés converted his 2nd save in 2 tries.
