Fairfield and Scranton met at Hell Stadium in front of a lively crowd.

The Fairfield Flash topped the Scranton Escape by the score of 13-7, with the biggest share of the credit going to catcher Ernie Horswill. Horswill hit 2 home runs. He scored 4 runs and drove in 5 for the Flash on the day. Fairfield reliever Hirotada Nan was credited with the win, to go to 1-0. Taylor MacRuer took the loss for Scranton.

The Flash got a big at-bat from center fielder Barry Huffman. For the game, Huffman was 2-5 with a double, while adding 3 RBI. In the top of the seventh, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing double. His 7th double of the season gave Fairfield a 10-7 lead.

"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Huffman said.

Fairfield goes to 99-49. The win puts them 22½ games up in their division.
