Victory Pushes Freeze Record to 76-72
|
The Minneapolis Freeze picked up a win at The Firepit, knocking off the Joplin Fireballs, 4-1. Starting pitcher Sylvester Richardson was an essential part of his team's success. Richardson went 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 2, and struck out 3. His record improves to 3-2. The Freeze bumped their record to 76-72 with this latest triumph.
The Freeze got a big at-bat from third baseman Jim Bungay. For the game, Bungay was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 9th home run of the season gave Minneapolis a 2-0 lead.
