Calgary Kodiaks starter Juan Ventura pitched a strong game against the Reno Raiders at Foothills Stadium, leading the Kodiaks to a 6-1 win. Reno now has a 5-game losing streak.

The Kodiaks got a big at-bat from second baseman Sterling Hudswell. For the game, Hudswell went 2 for 4 with 2 singles. In the bottom of the seventh, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 63rd hit of the season gave Calgary a 2-1 lead.

"We take it day by day here," said Ventura, "and today was a good one for us."
