The Jacksonville Jacks got a superb performance from pitcher Yoshiaga Rin. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Hawaii. The Islanders won the game, 2-1. In spite of the loss, Rin was named the player of the game. He threw 8 innings of 4-hit ball. Norogumi Yokoyama was credited with the save for Hawaii, his 1st of the season. The Islanders, now 4-0, have been playing some good baseball.

Matt Clark, who is a two-time All-Star, aided the Hawaii cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the second. For the game, the catcher drove in one run.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Clark. "And not try to do too much."
