Baristas Win at Albuquerque, 9-7
|
Despite a fine performance by first baseman Kijuro Masuda, the Albuquerque Cacti suffered a 9-7 loss to the Silver Lake Baristas. Masuda went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Jesús Díaz got the win, improving to 2-3. He worked 6.1 innings, giving up 5 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 0. Bernardino Pacheco was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 2 of 4 save opportunities.
The Baristas got a big at-bat from first baseman Bradley Wolfe. For the game, Wolfe went 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. In the top of the first, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Silver Lake a 2-0 lead.
