Aeropostales Win at Bowling Green, 6-3
|
The Indian Wells Aeropostales downed the Bowling Green Racers, 6-3, at Top of the Hill. The Aeropostales were led by Bernardo Rodríguez, who captured player of the game honors. He was 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles, while scoring 2 times. Indian Wells reliever John Black got the win, raising his record to 3-1. Harlan Rudy was tagged with the loss. Kevin Spurr, credited with the save, is now 40 for 48 in save opportunities.
Indian Wells relied on the hitting of Corey Florey to pick up the win. The center fielder ripped a bases-clearing triple in the top of the second inning to put the Aeropostales on top, 3-0. For the game, Florey had 1 triple and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Florey told the Indian Wells Daily News.
The Aeropostales bumped their record to 74-72 with this latest triumph.
