Kodiaks Fall Short, 4-3, at Fort Worth
|
Hirokichi Fujimoto left his imprint on the 4-3 Fort Worth win against the Calgary Kodiaks. Fujimoto, who is tied for 10th in the NAL in home runs with 18, was 2-4 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Fort Worth reliever Don Myers picked up the win, bumping his record to 6-2. Manuel Delgard was collared with the loss. Bobby Saxon converted his 40th save in 46 tries.
Fujimoto had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a 1-0 fastball from Manuel Delgard, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Cats a 4-3 lead. It was the 18th home run of the year for Fujimoto.
"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Fujimoto.
Fort Worth has now won 4 straight.
