Victory Pushes Cats Record to 74-68
|
Shumei Heida was instrumental in his team's 6-5 triumph over the Calgary Kodiaks. The second baseman was 3-4 with 3 singles for the Fort Worth Cats. Fort Worth reliever Jesús Féliz was the winner. His record is now 4-0. Juan Ventura took the loss. The Cats bumped their record to 74-68 with this latest triumph.
The Cats got a big at-bat from second baseman Shigetoki Yamaguchi. For the game, Yamaguchi went 2 for 3 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fifth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 36th hit of the season gave Fort Worth a 6-5 lead.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Heida said after the game.
