Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Vern Carroll, the Billings Mustangs defeated the Acapulco Banditos, 12-3. Carroll was 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3 for the Mustangs. Luis Contreras was the winner. Over 6 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 7 hits, with 2 walks and 4 strikeouts. Cris Ayala was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 2 of 2 save opportunities.
