The Canton Paczkis defeated the Omaha Raptors, 5-3, in Nick Adenhart League action at Anchorage Municipal Stadium, with Canton pitcher Goro Ota named player of the game. The Paczkis sit in 5th place in the Nick Adenhart League Bobby Cox Division with a record of 69-71.
The Paczkis got a big at-bat from second baseman Akio Hara. For the game, Hara went 2-4 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI. In the top of the fifth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 113rd hit of the season gave Canton a 4-3 lead.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Canton manager Omar Arteaga. "It's usually not just one thing."
