Kodiaks Prevail, 5-3, Over Acapulco
|
Calgary Kodiaks starter Fred Naylor was definitely locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Acapulco Banditos, 5-3. Naylor, now 2-1, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 5, walking 5, and allowing no earned runs. Bob Archer, credited with the save, is now 3 for 6 in save opportunities.
The Kodiaks got a big at-bat from first baseman Lemn Onkwani. For the game, Onkwani went 2 for 4 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the first, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 24th hit of the season gave Calgary a 2-0 lead.
"We did enough to win," said Naylor.
The Kodiaks saw their win-loss record go to 63-76. At the same time, the Banditos fell to 57-84.
