Sasquatch Get Close Win Over Rhinos
|
The Rubber City Rhinos and Seattle Sasquatch provided some drama at The Rubber Grounds.
Rubber City pitcher Dylan Butlin gave the Sasquatch all they could handle, but in the end, Seattle left The Rubber Grounds with a 3-2 win. Butlin allowed 1 earned run on 6 hits over 8 innings. Gabresilassie Cherono earned his 8th save in 9 tries.
The Sasquatch got a big at-bat from left fielder Lee Jones. For the game, Jones went 1-4 with a double. In the top of the ninth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 2nd double of the season gave Seattle a 3-2 lead.
"The fans pay the tickets and help us do what we do, so we like to put on a show for them," Jones told the Seattle Daily News.
With the loss, Rubber City drops to 19-12.
