Caterpillars Roll to 8-3 Win Over Raiders
|
The Peoria Caterpillars grabbed a 8-3 win over the Reno Raiders at Excavatar Park. Peoria shortstop Francis Barlow was 3 for 5 with 3 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 to earn player of the game honors. Gusti Kusuma earned his 3rd save in 6 chances. With the victory, the Caterpillars record now stands at 68-70.
The Caterpillars got a big at-bat from first baseman Kosaku Yasuda. For the game, Yasuda was 1-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 18th home run of the season gave Peoria a 3-0 lead.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Yasuda said.
