Ogawa Sensational for Coal Miners
|
The first-place Antioch Coal Miners welcomed Minneapolis to The Coal Mine.
In a tight game between the Antioch Coal Miners and the Minneapolis Freeze, pitcher Takeji Ogawa was terrific on the mound. The Antioch right-hander was named the player of the game in Antioch's 3-0 win. Antioch has now won 4 straight, while the Freeze have lost 3 in a row.
Ogawa, who dominated for Antioch, earned the victory to move to 8-4. He was in control the whole game, scattering 4 hits over 7.1 innings, while striking out 7. Minneapolis batters could never bunch up enough hits to produce a rally.
"I liked his command," said Antioch manager Hervé Barthélémy. "Takeji was throwing strikes."
