Huffman Excels, But Phantoms Win
|
The inspired effort of Fairfield center fielder Barry Huffman was not enough to prevent a 14-6 loss to the Coronado Phantoms. Huffman was 3-4 with 2 home runs and a triple, while scoring 3 times and driving in 5. The win boosts the Phantoms to 53-81. The loss puts the Flash at 91-43.
Leonard Wright aided the Coronado cause with a 2-run single in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the right fielder went 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3.
"The name of the game is scoring runs," Wright said. "We did a good job of that today."
