Escape Bang Out 7-4 Win Versus Indian Wells
|
The inspired effort of Indian Wells first baseman Frank Lewis was not enough to prevent a 7-4 loss to the Scranton Escape. Lewis went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Scranton reliever Chan De was the winner. His record is now 3-3. John Faivre took the loss. The Escape move to 57-77 with the win, while the Aeropostales drop to 69-67.
Keaton Hewitt had a big run-scoring single for the Escape in the bottom of the second inning. With Scranton trailing 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a cutter from John Faivre and stroked the single to right. It was his 18th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Escape ahead, 2-1.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Hewitt told the Scranton Chronicle.
