Titans Prevail, 4-3, Over Antioch
|
The Chicago Titans racked up a win at The War Dome, bumping off the Antioch Coal Miners, 4-3. Lorenzo Espinoza, who started for Chicago, pitched effectively for his team. Espinoza got the win, improving to 6-3. He allowed 6 hits and walked 0 over 7 innings. Espinoza allowed 2 earned runs. The win boosts the Titans to 61-69. The loss puts the Coal Miners at 74-56.
Had Manolo González not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 1st, González hit a 2-run home run. That made the score 4-2, in favor of the Titans.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said González. "And not try to do too much."
