Victory Pushes Death Stars Record to 71-60
|
Underdogs Ballpark was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Detroit Death Stars and the Acapulco Banditos.
The Acapulco Banditos got a superb performance from shortstop Jeffrey O'Connor. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Detroit. The Death Stars won the game, 9-8. In spite of the loss, O'Connor was named the player of the game. He went 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Acapulco now has a 5-game losing streak.
Rick Giammarino, the 19 overall pick in the 2029 draft, helped out the Detroit cause in the top of the fourth inning with a 3-run home run. For the game, the catcher went 1 for 5 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Detroit manager David Parker.
