Billings starter Luis Sánchez pitched effectively against the Fort Worth Cats at Cobb Field. The right-hander led his team to a 4-3 win. Billings reliever Kevin Labbee was the winner. His record is now 6-4. Bobby Saxon took the loss. The 'W' lifts Billings's record to 60-70.

The Mustangs got a big at-bat from designated hitter Al Nichol. For the game, Nichol went 3-5 with a triple and a double. In the bottom of the 11th, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring triple. His 1st triple of the season gave Billings a 4-3 lead.

"What an ending!" said a jubilant Nichol.
